How to Use
Coverage: Approximately 55-60 square feet per 20kg bag with 6mm (1/4" x 1/4") notched trowel application. Actual coverage may vary based on tile size, substrate evenness, application methodology and site conditions.
Storage Before Use: Store bags in a cool, dry, covered location above floor level away from direct contact with moisture, walls or ground. Stack bags properly and use FIFO method (First In First Out) to utilize older stock first. Do not use hardened or expired material.
Substrate Preparation: Ensure the substrate is structurally sound, clean, dry, level and free from dust, loose particles, oil, grease, laitance, paint, curing compounds, efflorescence and any contaminants that may affect adhesion. New concrete must be minimum 28 days old and properly cured. Remove all weak or damaged material. Fill major undulations, depressions and cracks with suitable leveling compound or repair mortar. Check the surface to ensure it is true to plumb. For tile-on-tile installations, ensure existing tiles are firmly bonded and clean the surface thoroughly.
Mixing Instructions: Use clean portable water free from impurities and harmful chemicals. Pour approximately 5-6 liters of clean water into a clean mixing container or bucket. Gradually add the entire 20kg bag of LATICRETE 315Plus powder while mixing continuously to prevent lump formation. Mix thoroughly using a slow-speed mechanical mixer or electric drill with paddle attachment for 3-5 minutes until you achieve a smooth, homogeneous, lump-free paste with uniform consistency. Adjust water quantity slightly to obtain proper workable consistency based on ambient environmental conditions, but avoid making the mix too thin.
Slaking Time: Allow the thoroughly mixed paste to rest undisturbed for 5 minutes (slaking time). This allows the polymers and cement to fully hydrate and develop proper adhesive properties. After the slaking period, remix briefly for 1-2 minutes before application. Do not add extra water after the slaking period as this will weaken the bond strength.
Application Temperature: Apply adhesive only when ambient temperature is between 4°C to 40°C. Do not apply on frozen substrates or when temperature is expected to drop below 5°C or exceed 40°C within 24 hours of installation. Avoid application in direct sunlight, rain or extreme weather conditions.
Adhesive Application: Using an appropriate notched trowel (6mm or 1/4" x 1/4" square notch for tiles up to 300mm x 300mm, larger notch for bigger tiles), spread the mixed adhesive evenly on the prepared substrate. Hold the trowel at 45-60 degree angle to create uniform parallel grooves or ridges. Apply adhesive over an area that can be tiled within the open time (approximately 20-30 minutes depending on weather conditions and substrate porosity). For better results and increased coverage, use the back-buttering technique for tiles larger than 300mm x 300mm.
Tile Placement & Bedding: Place tiles onto the adhesive bed while ridges are still fresh and workable. Press tiles firmly into the adhesive with slight twisting or sliding motion to ensure proper collapse of ridges and full contact with the tile back. Beat tiles gently using a rubber mallet to achieve complete bedding and eliminate air pockets. Maintain uniform joint width of 2-3mm using tile spacers - spacing between tiles is mandatory to accommodate thermal expansion and prevent cracking. Always provide expansion joints as per project requirements.
Coverage Check: Periodically lift a freshly placed tile to verify proper adhesive transfer and coverage. Minimum 80% coverage on the back of tiles is required for wall applications and 95% coverage for floor applications. If coverage is insufficient, adjust trowel notch size or application technique accordingly.
Setting & Curing Time: Tiles can be adjusted within 20-30 minutes of placement (open time) depending on environmental conditions. After this period, do not disturb or reposition tiles. Allow the adhesive to cure undisturbed for 24-48 hours before grouting or subjecting to foot traffic. For heavy traffic areas or external floors, wait 72 hours. Curing time may vary based on tile size, substrate porosity, temperature and humidity conditions.
Grouting: After proper curing period, remove tile spacers carefully. Clean joints thoroughly using a vacuum or brush to remove any adhesive residue or dust. Apply suitable grout (use MYK LATICRETE 500 Series sanded grout or 600 Series unsanded grout mixed with LATICRETE 1776 Grout Admix Plus for best results) to fill the joints as per manufacturer's instructions.
Important Installation Guidelines:

• NOT suitable for external wall applications above 10 feet height - use LATICRETE 325 or higher grade adhesives for such applications
• NOT suitable for mesh-backed tiles, large format tiles above 600mm, engineered stones, agglomerates or quartz - use appropriate specialized adhesives for these materials
• Always provide expansion joints at perimeters, doorways and every 3-4 meters in large installations
• Do not use cement, sand or any other additives with this product
• Mixed adhesive must be used within pot life (approximately 2-3 hours) - discard any unused material after this period
• For swimming pools, wet areas and high-flex applications, use LATICRETE 335 Super Flex instead

Cleaning: Clean all tools, trowels, mixing buckets and equipment with clean water immediately after use before the adhesive sets and hardens. Once hardened, adhesive can only be removed mechanically.
Safety Precautions: Contains Portland cement - may cause skin and eye irritation. Wear protective gloves, safety goggles and dust mask during mixing, handling and application. Use in well-ventilated areas. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and clean water. If eye contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water for several minutes and seek medical attention if irritation persists. Keep out of reach of children. Do not ingest.
