Description
TRUSTED CEMENT WITH NATIONAL AWARD RECOGNITION - Hathi Cement 50kg is manufactured by Saurashtra Cement Limited, an ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified company. This premium quality cement has won the Indian cement industry's prestigious National Award for Energy Efficiency and is recognized as an Export House. Part of the renowned Mehta Group, Hathi Cement delivers world-class quality standards conforming to BIS, BS, SLSS and SABS specifications for all types of residential, commercial and industrial construction projects.
HIGH COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH & DURABILITY - Hathi Cement OPC 53 Grade offers exceptional compressive strength of 60-65 MPa at 28 days, making it particularly suitable for structural applications requiring high-strength concrete. The advanced cement chemistry with scientifically balanced C3A, C3S and C2S compounds ensures controlled heat of hydration, allowing structures to gain strength progressively over time. This results in sound durability and long-lasting construction that withstands the test of time.
LOW MAGNESIA & ALKALI FOR CRACK RESISTANCE - Formulated with less than 0.85% magnesia content, Hathi Cement prevents expansion beyond 28 days of setting, significantly reducing the risk of cracks appearing 8-12 months after construction. The low alkali and chloride composition prevents expansion, inhibits moisture ingress, and protects steel reinforcement from corrosion. This makes it an ideal moderate sulphate resisting cement, especially beneficial for foundations, sub-soil construction, sulphurous soils, coastal belt construction, and corrosive waste disposal civil works.
VERSATILE CONSTRUCTION SOLUTION - Perfect for all construction applications including RCC structures, foundations, columns, beams, slabs, high-rise buildings, bridges, dams, roads, hydraulic structures, plastering, brickwork, masonry work and general civil construction. Suitable for construction in humid coastal areas, aggressive chemical environments and areas with high sulphate content in soil or groundwater. The negligible impurities ensure fault-free, long-lasting construction with enhanced durability across all weather conditions.

How to Use
Storage Guidelines: Store cement bags in a cool, dry, covered location away from direct contact with moisture, walls or ground. Stack bags on wooden planks or pallets raised at least 150mm from the floor. Avoid stacking more than 10 bags high to prevent hardening and cake formation. Use FIFO method (First In First Out) - utilize older stock first. Keep away from water sources and ensure proper ventilation in storage area.
Mixing Ratios:
  • For RCC/Concrete Work (M20 Grade): Mix cement, sand and aggregate in ratio of 1:1.5:3 with water-cement ratio of 0.45-0.50
  • For RCC/Concrete Work (M15 Grade): Mix cement, sand and aggregate in ratio of 1:2:4 with water-cement ratio of 0.50-0.55
  • For Plastering Work: Mix cement and sand in ratio of 1:4 to 1:6 depending on surface and application
  • For Brickwork/Masonry: Use cement and sand in ratio of 1:6 for general brickwork
  • Add clean potable water gradually to achieve desired workable consistency

Material Preparation: Ensure all materials are of good quality. Use clean river sand free from silt, clay, organic matter and impurities. Aggregate should be well graded, washed and free from dust. Screen sand through proper mesh before use. Water used for mixing should be clean and potable, free from harmful chemicals, acids, alkalis and organic matter.
Mixing Process: For concrete work, use a mechanical concrete mixer for uniform mixing. Add coarse aggregate first, then sand, followed by cement and finally water. Mix thoroughly for minimum 2-3 minutes until you achieve uniform consistency and color throughout. For manual mixing, use a clean, hard, non-porous platform. Mix dry ingredients first, then add water gradually while mixing continuously.
Application Guidelines: Use the mixed mortar or concrete within 30-45 minutes of preparation before initial setting begins. For plastering, dampen the wall surface adequately before application for better bonding. Apply plaster in uniform layers using trowel and finish smooth. For concrete work, place concrete within 30 minutes of mixing. Compact thoroughly using needle vibrator or manual tamping to eliminate air pockets and ensure dense, void-free concrete. Level and finish the surface as required.
Curing Requirements: Proper curing is crucial for achieving full strength and preventing cracks. After placement, allow concrete to set for 4-6 hours, then begin curing by sprinkling water regularly. Cure concrete structures for minimum 7 days, preferably 14 days for better results. Keep surfaces continuously moist especially during first 3 days. In hot weather, cure for extended periods. Cover with wet gunny bags, plastic sheets or apply curing compounds to retain moisture. For plastered surfaces, water curing for 7 days gives best results.
Safety Precautions: Cement is alkaline in nature. Wear protective gloves, safety goggles and dust mask while handling cement to avoid skin and eye contact. Avoid inhaling cement dust. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with clean water after handling. Do not use hardened or lumpy cement. Keep cement away from children and food items. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
