This economical multipurpose product serves as a powerful bonding agent, waterproofing solution and mortar modifier for concrete and cement surfaces. Ideal for repairing spalled concrete in floors, chajjas, beams, slabs and other structural elements, it creates exceptionally strong bonds between old and new concrete surfaces, plasters and masonry work.

How to Use
Surface Preparation: Remove all dust, laitance, loose particles, oil, grease, paint, curing compounds and any contaminants from the concrete surface. For areas with breaking or spalling issues, clean thoroughly and roughen the surface to create a mechanical key. Use a chisel or grinding machine to cut back damaged concrete to sound material. Create a rectangular profile with minimum 10mm depth at the extreme edges to promote enhanced bond strength. Saturate the prepared surface thoroughly with clean portable water prior to application. Remove any excess standing water if present.
As Waterproofing Slurry Coat: Mix SmartCare Repair Polymer and cement in ratio of 1:2 by weight (1 part polymer to 2 parts cement). Add the polymer to a clean container first, then slowly add cement while mixing continuously for 2-3 minutes to avoid air entrapment. Use mechanical stirrers for efficient and uniform mixing. Mix only the quantity that can be applied within the working time. Apply 2 coats of the mixed slurry by brush in a span of 4-6 hours on the prepared concrete substrate. Ensure uniform coverage and proper thickness. It is recommended to cover the coating with a protective screed to the desired slope and thickness for best results.
For Repair Mortars & Renders: Prepare a suitable mix for patching repair mortar or render using the following proportions - Cement to Sand in 1:3 ratio, then add SmartCare Repair Polymer at 7% by weight of cement along with required amount of clean water. Mix thoroughly using a mechanical mixer until you achieve uniform, lump-free consistency. Apply the repair mortar within the working time and compact properly to eliminate voids. Finish the surface as required. This modified mortar offers improved adhesion, flexibility and durability compared to conventional cement-sand mortar.
As Bond Coat Application: For maximum adhesion, mix SmartCare Repair Polymer and cement in equal proportion by weight (1:1 ratio). Brush apply 1 or 2 continuous coats of this bonding mix on the prepared concrete substrate. Work the bond coat well into the surface pores and irregularities. Ensure to overlay the repair mortar or concrete while the bond coat is still tacky (within 20-30 minutes) for optimum bond development. Do not allow the bond coat to dry completely before applying the overlay material.
As Integral Waterproofing Additive: Add SmartCare Repair Polymer directly to cement mortar or concrete mix at 5-7% by weight of cement content to improve waterproofing, reduce permeability and enhance durability. This integral addition method is particularly effective for below-grade construction, water-retaining structures, foundations and areas exposed to moisture.
Important Application Tips:
Curing: After application, allow adequate curing time before subjecting to load or stress. For waterproofing applications, cure for minimum 24-48 hours before exposure to water. For structural repairs, cure for 7 days or as per project specifications. Proper curing enhances strength development and ensures optimal performance of the polymer-modified system.
Coverage: Coverage varies depending on application method, substrate porosity and thickness applied. As a general guide - for waterproofing slurry coat, approximately 1.5-2.0 kg/m² for two coats. For bond coat application, approximately 0.3-0.5 kg/m².
Safety Precautions: Contains cement and polymers. Wear protective gloves, safety goggles and mask during mixing and application to avoid skin and eye contact. Use in well-ventilated areas. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water for several minutes and seek medical attention if irritation persists. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
