Description
INDUSTRIAL GRADE SYNTHETIC RUBBER ADHESIVE - Pidilite Fevicol SR 998 is a high-strength synthetic rubber-based solvent containing contact adhesive specially designed for industrial and commercial applications. This dark brown liquid adhesive exhibits excellent bonding strength and dries to a tough, flexible film with superior resistance to water and aging. Perfect for bonding leather, rubber, EVA foam, canvas, painted metal, mild steel, glass, galvanized steel, chipboard, PU sheet, rigid PVC board, leather board, cementitious flooring, GRP, and synthetic fabrics in automotive, footwear, furniture, and construction industries.
SUPERIOR BOND STRENGTH WITH WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGE - Fevicol SR 998 offers exceptional adhesion even on generally non-polar substrates like polyethylene foam and polypropylene surfaces where most adhesives fail to bond. Operating effectively in temperatures ranging from minus 20°C to plus 80°C (short exposure up to 100°C), this adhesive provides satisfactory to strong holding bonds in challenging situations. Features quick grab property without spring back action on curved surfaces, making it particularly suitable for vertical applications, HVAC insulation work, and specialized packaging applications. Provides excellent performance at sub-zero temperatures with long-lasting durability and resistance to aging. Free of carcinogenic compounds, ensuring applicator safety.
VERSATILE APPLICATIONS ACROSS MULTIPLE INDUSTRIES - This multipurpose adhesive is widely used in footwear manufacturing and repair, upholstery work, furniture industry for bonding laminates to wood and PVC laminate to laminate, leather and foam industries, vehicle building, railway applications, ship-building, electrical areas, HVAC ducting in hospitals, pharmaceuticals, recording studios, cold storages, malls, airports, auditoriums, and industrial facilities for bonding nitrile rubber, EPDM, XLPE, glass wool, rockwool, and PUF to galvanized iron, aluminum, or mild steel duct surfaces, chilled water pipe lines, underdeck insulation, wall paneling, and general construction. The 5kg pack is ideal for large-scale industrial operations offering excellent coverage economy. Can be applied by brush, roller coater, applicator, or finger. Provides approximately 200-300 grams coverage per square meter with mild odor suitable for poorly ventilated sites.

How to Use Clean the substrates to be bonded thoroughly. Surfaces must be dry and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease, mold release agents, and other contaminants. Stir Fevicol SR 998 thoroughly before use. Using a painting brush or roller coater, apply uniformly on both substrates to be bonded. Porous substrates may require a second coat, which can be applied after 5-10 minutes of the first coat. Allow the adhesive to become touch dry. Once dry to touch, press both surfaces together firmly with uniform pressure ensuring no air pockets form. For best results, use clamps or weights during initial bonding. Full bond strength develops within 24 hours at ambient temperature. Do not apply directly on Styrofoam. Avoid application on undulated surfaces. Keep container closed when not in use. Use protective hand gloves, masks, and goggles during application. Store with caution as it contains flammable solvents.
